Speed of sneeze

A large sneeze can zoom out of you mouth at over 600 mph.  For comparison, the speed of sound in dry air at 68 ^oF is 768 mph.  Also, about 40,000 aerosol saliva droplets can be produced.

Spit Happens

The average human produces 25,000 quarts of saliva in a lifetime.  That's enough spit to fill 2 swimming pools.  On a similar note, please don't walk around a baseball dugout barefooted.  

Soda's Influence

People who tend to drink 3 or more glasses of soda pop daily have 62% more tooth decay, fillings, and tooth loss than others.

Toothbrush facts

• The first toothbrush with bristles was made in China in 1498.  Bristles from hogs, horses, and badges were used.  They were later found to be too abrasive and harsh.  In 1938, the first commercial toothbrush with nylon bristles and a plastic handle was invented.
• You should replace your toothbrush after you have a cold, viral infection, or and episode of the flu.  Microbes from these previous infections can implant themselves on the toothbrush bristles leading to re-infection.
  
• The first American to get a patent for a toothbrush was H.N. Wadsworth.
  
• The electric toothbrush first appeared in 1939.
