Veneers

Dental veneers are a thin layer of restorative material placed over the front surface of the tooth.  Porcelain or composite material is used to mask imperfections or change the shape and angle of the tooth.  Due to it's more life-like appearance and higher resistance to stain, porcelain is more common.

With veneers, little altering of the teeth is done, and they are bonded on to the tooth.  Cosmetic dentistry often involves only the use of porcelain veneers to straighten teeth or reposition misaligned teeth.  If severe staining has occurred to your teeth, veneers can mask those unsightly imperfections.
